Stiqa ("the App," "we," "us") is a vocabulary-learning app for readers, made by Enzo Smith. This page explains what information the App handles, how it's used, and the choices available to you. We've tried to describe exactly what the app actually does — not more, not less.
Stiqa does not require or support account creation, and does not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any other information that identifies you as a person. There is no login, no sign-up, and no user profile of any kind.
When you use Stiqa, you can save:
All of this content is stored locally on your device, using Apple's SwiftData framework. It is not uploaded to, or backed up on, any server we operate, and it is not synced to iCloud or any other account. If you delete the app, this data is deleted along with it.
Stiqa uses Anthropic's Claude AI model to generate word definitions and, optionally, contextual explanations. To do this:
Neither request includes your name, device identifier, or any other identifying information — only the text described above.
Our backend (Supabase Edge Functions) acts as a lightweight relay: it forwards your request to Anthropic and returns the response, without storing your words, sentences, or book titles in a database. As with any networked service, standard infrastructure-level logs (such as IP address and timestamps) may be retained briefly by our hosting provider (Supabase) and by Anthropic for security, abuse-prevention, and operational purposes, consistent with their own policies. We encourage you to review Anthropic's Privacy Policy (https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy) and Supabase's Privacy Policy (https://supabase.com/privacy) for details on how they handle data sent through their services.
Stiqa does not use analytics SDKs, crash-reporting tools, advertising networks, or any form of tracking. We do not collect device identifiers, location data, or usage statistics. The app does not request access to your camera, microphone, contacts, or location.
